Individuals with Disabilities
Schedule A and DOI
Schedule A allows federal agencies to hire qualified individuals with disabilities without going through the traditional hiring process. Under Schedule A, individuals may be hired without competing with the general public. Candidates must meet the eligibility requirements for Schedule A and the minimum qualification requirements for the position.
To be eligible for Schedule A, you must provide documentation that shows you have an intellectual disability, a severe physical disability, or a psychiatric disability. Learn more about Schedule A and the required documentation.
Workforce Recruitment Program (WRP) and DOI
The Workforce Recruitment Program (WRP) connects federal and select private-sector employers nationwide with college students, graduate students, and recent graduates with disabilities who are eager to demonstrate their abilities in the workplace through internships or permanent jobs.
Candidates apply to the WRP each fall through participating colleges and universities and can receive elective informational interviews with federal employees who serve as volunteer recruiters. Candidates represent all majors and range from college freshmen to graduate and law-school students.
Information from candidates seeking employment is compiled in a searchable database that is available to federal employers.
Veterans and Military Spouses
DOI has special programs dedicated to supporting veterans and their spouses. You can search all DOI jobs open to Veterans or Military Spouses on USAJOBS.
